Jim and Jill purchased their first GSD in 1986 and have had them ever since. With that first dog she took an obedience class and that was the catalyst for Jill’s love of the sport of dog training. She has shown in AKC and UKC obedience, earning multiple high in trials and also in UKC conformation, where her dog earned a championship. Three of her German Shepherds have been nationally ranked by The German Shepherd Dog Club of America in novice, open and utility and also have earned an honorable mention ranking in utility in the First and Foremost Rating System published by Front and Finish, the dog trainer’s magazine. She joined the SNJGSDC in 1992.

She has trained and shown 4 German Shepherds as well as 3 Labradors thrown in for good measure and also has had the privilege to train with some of the best trainers in the sport. Currently, Jill has a young Shepherd female that she is starting in a new venue which is IPO/Schutzhund. This is a new adventure for both of them and her goal is to earn an IPO 3 on her female. Jill feels fortunate to be training with one of the best trainers in this sport of Schutzhund.
